Each circle is a real fire's burned area, drawn around your spot as a circle of the same size. Real fires are nothing like circles — they run with the wind into long fingers, and a fire this area might be forty miles end to end. The area is the honest part, not the shape.

Final reported burned areas from the agencies that managed each incident, rounded. These are specific fires from specific years, not a live feed — nothing here reports a season still burning. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
