The Instrument Cabinet

every sound computed from the physics — not one recording
An homage, not a reissue. This is an original tribute to the multimedia encyclopedias of the early 1990s — it is not affiliated with Microsoft, and contains none of that software's text, pictures or audio. What it does contain is a small synthesiser: every note you hear is computed in your browser from a model of how that instrument makes sound. The models are caricatures, some cruder than others, and each card says where its own falls short.
