How the equations work
Each branch ends at x + L·cos(θ), y + L·sin(θ). Its children use your length and angle rules, then repeat up to the chosen depth.
- r
- Seeded random value, −1 to 1
- d
- Depth progress, 0 to 1
- s
- Branch side, −1 or +1 (trunk: 0)
- a
- Spread slider in radians
- w
- Wind slider, −1 to 1
Use + − * / ^, parentheses, pi, sin, cos, abs, sqrt, min, or max.
Try s*a*(1-d*0.5) + w*0.2 for branches that narrow toward the tips.
To keep growth bounded, length ratios are limited to 0.3–0.86, turns to ±1.6 radians, and curvature to ±0.9. Undefined results are rejected. Edits affect only the selected tree when you press Apply.
